Indoor drone inspections for confined and hard-to-reach spaces

Collect inspection data inside tanks, shafts and industrial indoor environments without unnecessary physical access.

Perfect-Drone performs indoor drone inspections using specialised systems such as the Flyability Elios 2 and Elios 3. These drones allow us to closely inspect tanks, shafts, technical rooms, service tunnels and other hard-to-reach indoor environments.

The collected imagery can be used directly by your own inspectors or technical department for further assessment, maintenance planning and reporting.

We focus on safe indoor inspections

Indoor drone inspections: safe, efficient and purpose-built

Perfect-Drone performs indoor drone inspections in environments where conventional inspection methods are difficult, time-consuming or potentially hazardous. These include tanks, boilers, shafts, technical rooms, service tunnels, production installations and other confined spaces.

Using specialised indoor drones such as the Flyability Elios 2 and Elios 3, we can collect inspection data without requiring personnel to immediately enter the space. The Elios 3 can also collect LiDAR data for 3D scanning and spatial documentation and can be equipped with a thermal camera to detect temperature differences and abnormalities.

This helps reduce risks, minimise downtime and provide faster insight into the condition of a space or installation.

We collect the inspection data, while your specialist remains responsible for the technical assessment.

Indoor drone inspections of tanks and silos

Indoor drones allow tanks, silos and other confined storage spaces to be inspected internally without immediately requiring scaffolding, rope access or physical entry. This makes it possible to collect visual inspection data from areas that would normally be difficult to access.

The drone can capture corrosion, contamination, cracking, deposits and other visible abnormalities. This provides faster insight into the condition of the space and helps support better planning of follow-up maintenance.

Inspections in shafts, service tunnels and technical rooms

Indoor drones are particularly suitable for inspecting narrow, dark or difficult-to-access spaces such as shafts, service tunnels and technical installations. Where direct human access is difficult or unsafe, a drone can quickly perform an initial visual inspection.

This makes the method suitable for documenting existing conditions, identifying abnormalities and supporting maintenance or renovation decisions.

Indoor inspections of industrial installations

Within industrial environments, indoor drones can be deployed for inspections inside process installations, production areas, boilers, storage tanks and other complex indoor locations.

The drone captures imagery from inside the space, allowing wear, contamination and damage to be assessed more effectively. This helps make inspections safer and more efficient and can reduce unnecessary preparation or extended downtime.

3D inspection and indoor spatial documentation

Depending on the environment, indoor inspection data can also be used for further documentation, analysis and 3D registration. The Flyability Elios 3 is equipped with LiDAR-sensor, enabling both visual inspections and the creation of a 3D scan of the inspected space.

This provides a clearer overview of the indoor environment, accessibility and technical situation. The data can be valuable for inspections, maintenance preparation, spatial documentation and follow-up inspections.

Daarnaast kan de indoor drone ook worden ingezet met een thermal camera, zodat temperatuurverschillen, hotspots of andere thermische afwijkingen in dezelfde omgeving zichtbaar kunnen worden gemaakt.

LiDAR, thermal inspections and UT measurements

With the Flyability Elios 3, indoor inspections can go beyond visual imagery alone. The drone can collect LiDAR data for 3D registration and can be equipped with a thermal camera to identify temperature differences and abnormalities.

The Elios 3 can also be equipped with a UT payload for ultrasonic thickness measurements on metal structures, tanks and installations. This allows difficult-to-reach measurement points to be captured safely and linked to their inspection location within the 3D model.

1
Define the inspection objective
We start with a phone call or online meeting to discuss the object, space, potential risks and the objective of the inspection.
2
Preparation and safety assessment
We assess the location, accessibility and conditions inside the space. We consider safety, operational feasibility and the most suitable indoor drone for the inspection.
3
Perform the indoor inspection
We carry out the indoor drone flight and collect the required inspection data. During the inspection, additional attention can be given to specific components or abnormalities.
4
Delivery of the inspection data
After the inspection, we deliver the collected imagery and data in a structured manner so it can be used for assessment, maintenance planning and, where required, reporting.
Suitable for complex indoor environments
With systems such as the Flyability Elios 2 and Elios 3, we can inspect tanks, shafts, technical rooms and other indoor locations where conventional drones cannot be used.
Reduced downtime
Indoor drone inspections can often be performed more quickly than traditional inspection methods involving scaffolding or extensive access equipment. This helps installations return to operation sooner.
Safety first
An indoor drone can visually inspect a space before personnel need to enter it. This can help reduce risk when inspecting confined or difficult-to-access environments.

    FAQ

What is an indoor drone inspection?
An indoor drone inspection uses a specialised drone to inspect confined, dark or difficult-to-access indoor environments such as tanks, shafts, technical rooms and industrial installations.
Which indoor drones do you use?
Perfect-Drone works with specialised systems including the Flyability Elios 2 and Elios 3. These drones are specifically designed for inspections in confined and challenging indoor environments.
Which locations are suitable for an indoor drone inspection?
Indoor drones can be used in locations such as tanks, silos, boilers, shafts, service tunnels, technical rooms, production installations and other hard-to-reach indoor environments.
Is an indoor drone inspection safer than a physical inspection?
In many situations, yes. A drone can first be used to visually inspect the space without requiring personnel to enter immediately. This can reduce risk and provide valuable information before further inspection or maintenance activities take place.
Do you also deliver the imagery and data for reporting?
Yes. We can provide the collected imagery and inspection data for further technical assessment, maintenance planning and reporting by your own inspectors or specialists.
Can you also support inspections in industrial environments?
Yes. Indoor drones are particularly useful in industrial environments where accessibility, safety and downtime are important considerations. We can support inspections in tanks, process installations, production areas and other complex indoor locations.
